Planes, Trams, buses, and feet--By the way did I mention--we won!!!!

The important stuff first - we won our first game against a Sweden team 3-0. The girls looked great! You can tell that they worked hard over the past couple of weeks. They were all talking on the field, encouraging each other. Their one touch passes were faster and on target. They were very aggressive, moving to the ball. You can tell they are in great shape. They looked like champions!!

I don't have all of the stats, but can tell you that the first goal was a Shanna Hutchison header off of Kaylie Henson's corner kick in about the 17-20th minute timeframe in the first half. The next goal was from Kaylie Henson, off an assist by Jen Guy, also in the first half. Finally, Amanda took one in by herself. The goalie had come out to defend, but she very patiently went around her. Jordan had one save, but there wasn't many threats. Quite a showing for our first game!!!

The field we were suppose to play on was beautiful! I don't think I've seen an American Football field as well taken care of as that field...but we didn't get to play on it, because they've had so much rain lately. The field we played on was "gravel" if you can imagine that. It was a real fine gravel and it played like an indoor field, very fast and the ball bounced quite a bit.

The weather is beautiful today, sunny and warm. We'll be going to the main soccer area to buy T-shirts and then, go to the opening ceremonies.

Finally, back to the title --plane, trams, buses, and feet--we're traveling a lot, from the hotel, to the school, to the fields, etc. We'll be seasoned travelers and in great shape when we get back.

We'll try to update later tonight. Everyone is well.
